County championships weekend

What a weekend it was at the various county championships across the country… we had a record number of athletes enter over 5 different counties and 32 medals in total …. well done to all athletes who competed and also to the coaches and parents.

 

Staffordshire county championships 

 

Steve Hollis took silver in the javelin and Staffordshire county champion in the discus 

 

Mia sheriff took silver in the u20 hammer

 

Zara Acton double county champion in the discus and shot (New pb ) 

 

Ben Acton double Staffordshire county champion in the discus and shot 

 

Harry Handsaker too silver in the u17 men 100m with a time of 11.0

 

Hannah sprenglewski took bronze in the u17 shot with a brilliant new pb of 9.45m. 

 

Lewis botterill took silver in the u17m shot in his first county champs 

 

Francesca sharpe with another huge pb of  39.46m in the u17w javelin to be crowned county champion for a second year. 

 

Katie Brant was crowned county champion in the u13 g hurdles and a new pb 

 

Faye Holmes took 4th in the u15 g 75m hurdles 

 

Rebecca sheffield took silver in the 400h and a new club record 

 

Jess Lear in her first county championships took fourth in the hammer and bronze in the discus with a new pb 

 

Callum Abberley took silver in the u20m

1500m 

 

Thomas Benfield was crowned county champion in the u20m pole vault 

 

Paige barker took 4th in the u13 girls 800m and a New pb 

 

Kaliyah morant-Hudson just missed out on a bronze in the long jump and took 4th , she was 7th in the 800m with a new pb. 

 

Charlotte jones was crowned county shot putt champion and Long jump champion 

 

Alana Keary in her first county champs took bronze in the javelin with a new PB 

 

Rachel Burke in her very first  hammer competition was crowned county champion. 

 

Jack shorten took 5th in the 800m with a new pb and then 4th in the 1500m with another pb. 

 

Edward sheffield took silver in the u17 400m and then 4th in the 200m 

 

Leicestershire county championships 

 

Rhiannon Woolerton took the silver medal in the u20 discus with a brilliant season’s 

best 

 

Derbyshire county championships 

 

Aimee fellows took two silver medals in the u20 discus and shot , going over 30 in the discus again 

 

Izzy fellows in the u13 shot crowned county champion and u13 javelin champion 

 

Ben Howard was crowned senior men’s discus , shot and javelin champion 

 

Maisie trueman took silver in the u13g 800m 

 

Lolly Blissett just missed out on a javelin bronze but managed to put nearly 3m on her javelin pb in the u15g javelin 

 

Middlesex county championships 

 

Nicola Long in the senior women’s hammer was crowned county champion with another solid performance 

 

 Northamptonshire county championships 

 

Lily-may pursey was crowned Northampton shot put champion with a season’s best and bronze in the discus 

 

Once again well done to each and every one of you
